Principal's Message

Principal's Message

Barge-Lincoln has undergone many changes the past couple of years. We have new administration and new staff that will continue the great things we have accomplished the past six years. Our staff is ready for a new challenge in supporting ALL students as they continue to develop learning habits to master rigorous standards.

Our school has over 620 students from pre-school to fifth grade. The demographics of our school are as follows: 93% of our students are Hispanic/Latino; 4% are white; 1% American Indian/Alaskan Native; 60% of all students are transitional bilingual, 15% of all students are migrant and most importantly, 100% of ALL Barge-Lincoln students are born to be successful!

Our students are involved in music, sports, and math competitions. Our superstar music teacher, Ms. Webb, teaches 30+ steel band students on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ms. Hernandez, Mr. Reeves, and Mr. Mendez coach 3rd-5th graders in basketball competitions throughout the year. Mrs. Caltenco, math interventionist teacher, mentors our best fourth and fifth grade math students to compete at local, district and state levels.

Our staff is committed to teaching students to master rigorous standards, assisting students on Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS), creating a stronger parent leadership group (PLG), focus on reducing absenteeism (Fewer than Five) and recognizing and celebrating cultural diversity in our school.

Lastly, our staff would like to thank our service clubs, faith-based agencies, YPAL and YMCA in support our students with dictionaries for our third graders, backpacks for all students, playground equipment and volunteer tutors. If you are interested in supporting our students, please stop by the office to find out how you can get involved.

If you are interested in learning more about our fabulous school, we encourage you to stop in at the office.
